What specific instructional practices or intervention appear to be driving the gains? I know the plans look different across the schools, but Is there one thing that's really pushing the improvement in our learners, specifically among our Black students in reading, as well as improvements for our English learners?Kristi B. Kinsella · Board member22:33
Perhaps if the gaps are still there heading into high school, what are the interventions? It's a little bit more difficult, having had 3 go through high school, and just in my work on the board over the years, it's a little bit more difficult at the high school level to have those interventions and supports.Kristi B. Kinsella · Board member25:39
Is there anything, based on the results from last school year, is there anything or any few things that you guys can point to that we're doing differently this year than last year? Even though we've seen the growth, we want to continue to grow.Ryan E. Young · Board member30:21
I think that's excellent to start somewhere new and fresh. And start to see that trajectory go up. Now, how confident are we that our most challenging schools have our strongest and most effective supports, including the instructional specialists, interventionists, coaches, academic resources? How confident are we that our lowest performing schools have the highest interventionists in there?Ryan E. Young · Board member31:10
Can you talk about where the greatest delays in our procurement process lie? Um, so we hear ordering parts, or I know, and I know it's a nuance. I know way more HVAC words— chillers, boilers, capacitors, air handler units, compressors. I know way more words now, um, dealing with these issues.Ryan E. Young · Board member1:53:09
Now, I asked this question, it wasn't to you, maybe it might have been a year ago, but can we keep commonly failing HVAC parts or systems in inventory so the schools are not waiting those 8 to 12 weeks? Are we identifying like maybe it's a certain brand, certain part that we constantly are replacing?Ryan E. Young · Board member1:54:46
